Here at Pro Electrical we are able to offer PAT Testing, also known as Portable Appliance Testing; this involves a series of inspections (both electrical and visual) on all portable appliances within a place of work or a home with multiple occupants (rented accommodation). Through PAT Tests we are able to tell our clients if the electrical appliances within a home or business are safe for use or not. All employers and landlords have a duty of care to their employees, customers and tenants, through PAT Testing this obligation can be met.
Our electrical engineers offer PAT Testing so our clients can comply with the Electricity at Work regulations and reduce the risk of fire or injury within homes or buildings. Some insurance companies will dispute claims for damage to possessions or the building through electrical fire if sufficient electrical maintenance has not been carried out. When we complete PAT Testing for our clients this is the documentation / proof the insurance company requires.
It is estimated by Health and Safety Executives that more than 2000 fires a year are caused by faulty electrical appliances, annual PAT Testing will ensure that electrical appliances are not faulty and therefore ensure you avoid fines of up to £5,000.00, six months imprisonment and a criminal record through not complying with Electrical Regulations.
For your business to become ISO 9000 Quality Assured you must comply with all Health and Safety Requirements, including annual PAT Testing on electrical appliances owned by the company.
When PAT Testing is completed in your property you will be given a detailed report that lists every item of the equipment within the property. This PAT Testing is then repeated once a year, or more if the electrical appliance is used in harsh environments.
We recommend that PAT Testing is completed on any type of equipment that is powered by electrical energy, such as;
• All Portable Appliances
• Stationary Equipment
• Business and Information Technology Equipment
• Wash room hand dryers and other wired appliances
Why not call our helpful team of electrical engineers today; we will kindly help you select the correct time periods between your PAT Testing.
